Bridgestone rubber truss receives ISCC Plus certification

        Bridgestone’s Firestone Natural Rubber Farm in Liberia has received International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) Plus recognition for its ability to reduce environmental impact, use resources efficiently and combat climate change. It is the first natural rubber farm in the world to receive this recognition.
       Natural rubber collected and processed on the farm is sent to Bridgestone tire plants in North America and Europe, supporting the production of environmentally friendly tires like the Bridgestone Turanza EV, which are made from 50% recycled and renewable materials and are ISCC Plus certified.
        Firestone Liberia farms 118,000 acres and employs approximately 4,000 people. ISCC Plus certification also confirms that farms use good agricultural practices, provide appropriate working conditions and comply with local regulations. In addition to its agricultural activities, Firestone Liberia contributes to local communities by providing free health care to employees and their families and operating numerous schools.
       ISCC Plus certification highlights the company’s progress towards its stated goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2050 and producing tires using only environmentally friendly materials.

ISCC Plus certification is a key milestone that confirms our commitment to the sustainable cultivation and processing of natural rubber. Actions taken as progress in using 100% sustainable materials accelerates. in our products by 2050,” said Rick Burnett, vice president of domestic manufacturing for Bridgestone Americas.
