Oct 10,2026 Global Rubber News: NR Prices Hit 9-Year High on Tight Supply

Global natural rubber prices continued to surge on October 10, hitting a nine-year high in the spot market. Affected by ongoing El Niño weather, heavy rainfall and flooding in Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia has severely restricted rubber tapping activities. Fresh latex supply remains tight, and overall export volume from Southeast Asian producing countries has declined significantly year-on-year.

Meanwhile, the synthetic rubber market maintains a strong trend. Upstream butadiene prices remain at a high level, continuously supporting SBR, BR and special rubber costs. With raw material costs rising steadily, global tire manufacturers have successively increased product prices to relieve profit pressure.

Downstream market sentiment remains cautious. Affected by sluggish terminal automobile consumption, most rubber product factories continue to adopt on-demand purchasing without large-scale stock replenishment. Market analysts expect rubber prices to remain strong in the short term as weather risks continue to limit supply recovery.
