Rubber Additive Prices Keep Surging Worldwide Amid Persistent Supply Shortage

Global rubber additive prices have maintained a strong upward trend through Q3 2026. Core products including insoluble sulfur, vulcanization accelerators and antioxidants all hold firm offers with limited spot supply.

A batch of key additive production lines entered scheduled maintenance from July to August, cutting overall industrial output sharply. Meanwhile, upstream basic chemical raw materials remain tight and costly, further restricting manufacturers’ regular shipment volumes, which widens the supply-demand gap continuously.

Downstream demand stays stable. Conventional passenger tire, industrial rubber hose and conveyor belt factories maintain steady purchasing volumes. The booming EV tire sector creates extra demand for high-performance rubber additives, as new energy tires demand stricter aging and wear resistance.

Tire compound factories are now facing double cost pressure from both raw rubber materials and expensive additives. Many mid-sized rubber product makers dare not stock up heavily and only buy raw materials to meet immediate production needs.

Industry analysts forecast that supply tightness will not ease in the short term. With no large-scale new additive plants to start operation before October, rubber additive quotations are likely to stay high for the whole third quarter.
