Southeast Asian rubber plantations suffered continuous heavy rains this week, delaying latex tapping and slowing fresh rubber arrivals, which underpin natural rubber prices.
Upstream butadiene prices picked up, pushing up quotations of SBR, BR and EPDM. Tight supply of rubber additives also keeps manufacturers’ production costs high.
Demand shows regional imbalance. Southeast Asian tire demand holds steady, while European and American downstream factories only buy small lots as needed without bulk restocking. Short-term rubber prices will keep consolidating, with supply supporting the bottom and weak consumption curbing sharp gains.
